Friday & Saturday, Feb. 2 and 3

The multi-talented Banyon will perform at 8 p.m. Friday at Levelz. Banyon is comprised of Stephen Perkins of Janes Addiction, Rob Wasserman of Bob Weir's Rat Dog Band and Willie Waldman, who played with Snoop Doggy Dogg and Tupac. Levelz is located at 1860 Ski Time Square, Building E. Cover is $10; 21 and older only.

Clyde's Ride will perform Friday night at The Cellar Lounge. The Cellar Lounge is located at 703 Lincoln Ave. No cover before 10 p.m., $4 after; 21 and older only.

Paul Geppert will perform his folk, blues and newgrass mix from 6:30-8:30 p.m Friday at Creekside Cafe. While patrons enjoy dinner, Geppert will play for no cover charge. Creekside Cafe is located at 131 11th St.

If you're in the mood for all your old favorites, Worried Men is playing at 9:30 p.m Friday at Old Town Pub & Restaurant. Steamboat's favorite acoustic duo, playing everything "from Willie to Dylan," will perform in the bar. Old Town Pub & Restaurant is at the corner of Sixth Street and Lincoln Avenue. Acoustic guitar player Danny Robins performs at 8 p.m. Friday at Mocha Molly's. There is no cover. Mocha Molly's is located downtown on Seventh Street and Lincoln Avenue.

Presenting a world beat and funky sounds, Chupacabra will perform Friday night and Saturday at The Tugboat. The Tugboat is located at 1860 Ski Time Square; 21 and older only.

With a Steeley Dan influence, but only a couple covers, One Flight Up will perform Saturday night at The Cellar Lounge. The Cellar Lounge is located at 703 Lincoln Ave. No cover before 10 p.m., $4 after; 21 and older only.

Sunday, Feb. 4

Great Knight and Avalanche Production presents saxophone legend Maceo Parker, performing at 8 p.m. Sunday in the Sheraton Grand Ballroom. Celebrating Parker's new release "Dial: Maceo," he joins Rodney Skeet Curtis and Greg Boyer of P-Funk and Ron Tuley, Martha High and Sweet Charles of James Brown's band for "an evening of ass-shakin' fun." Monday, Feb. 5

The funky beats, slippery rhymes and itchy ska style of Fishbone perform Monday at The Tugboat. Playing hits from their latest album, "Fishbone & the Familyhood Nexperience Presents the Psychotic Friends Nuttwerx," the six-piece band from Los Angeles area will make you feel comfortable in The Familyhood that they call their fans. Fishbone considers its sound a "nuttmeg" because of the mix of rock, punk, soul, ska, reggae and funk. Fishbone has played with Perry Ferrell, Flea of the Chili Peppers, Gwen Stefani, Bronx Style Bob, Frusciante and Chad Smith. Although a few members have come and gone, the core three members have been jammin' for 20 years. Performances include: Lollapalooza, Saturday Night Live, Late Night with Conan O'Brien, The Larry Sanders Show and MTV. The Tugboat is at 1860 Ski Time Square, 21 and older only.

An '80s Dance Party will be at 8 p.m. Monday at Levelz with a $2 cover; 21 and older only. Levelz is at 1860 Ski Time Square, Building E.

Tuesday, Feb. 6

It's Ladies Night and loads of hip hop with DJs Catalyst, also known as DJ Rachel, Third Eye and Paradox at 8 p.m. Tuesday at Levelz. Levelz is at 1860 Ski Time Square, Building E. Cover is $3; 21 and older only.

DJ Slow Spin Rematch performs dance grooves Tuesday at The Cellar Lounge. Yo-Yo Ma presents the DJ who will play the best dance mixes of the '70s and '80s. The Cellar Lounge is at 703 Lincoln Ave.; 21 and older only.

Wednesday & Thursday, Feb. 7 & 8

Merl Saunders and his funky friends perform at 10 p.m. Wednesday at The Cellar Lounge. For the past 30 years, Saunders has composed, directed, produced, recorded and toured with such artists as Miles Davis, Harry Belafonte and the Grateful Dead. Saunders' roots are in jazz, blues and rock. Advanced tickets are available for $15 at All That Jazz and The Cellar Lounge, at 703 Lincoln Ave. The band is here for one night only. Presented by KFMU and Yo-Yo Ma; 21 and older only.

Steamboat natives Mountain of Venus have returned from Boston for a few shows Wednesday and Thursday night at The Tugboat to perform some of their groove rock beats. The Tugboat is at 1860 Ski Time Square; 21 and older only.
