ROBERT T. "BOB" GILLILAND

Robert T. "Bob" Gilliland of C.R. 129 died Aug. 21, 2001, at his home. He was 84.
Bob was born Feb. 19, 1917, in Plymouth, Kan., the son of the late John A. and Lulu Mae (Roth) Gilliland.
He married Jean MacKay March 14, 1945, at the Charleston Air Force base in South Carolina. She survives. Prior to retiring, Bob was employed with the University of Colorado, Boulder, as an auto mechanic. He was a veteran of WWII, serving in the United States Army Air Corps. He was a member of the American Legion Post 44 in Steamboat Springs, and was a member of the Oddfellow Lodge #9 in Boulder. His hobbies included woodworking and jewelry making.
Survivors besides his wife, Jean, include a son, Thaine Gilliland of Lafayette; a daughter, Kay Gilbert and husband Bill of Steamboat Springs and Sheridan, Wy.; a granddaughter, JoEllyn Gilliland of Lafayette; a step-grandson, Ryan Gilbert of Longmont; a step great-granddaughter, Kortney and numerous nephews, a niece cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Jenna Gilliland; a sister; three brothers, two who died in infancy.
Memorial services were held Aug. 24 at the Peterson Funeral Home of Steamboat, and Aug. 25 at the Christ Mortuary of Boulder. Officiating was Rev. Sandra Beran. Military honors were conducted by the American Legion Post 44.
