Steamboat Springs Top seed Alpine Taxi will be one of 27 teams that will open the road to a title in Steamboat's adult softball leagues this week.
Alpine is the No. 1 seed in the men's A division and will begin its quest Monday night. The men's B league will also open play Monday with Double Z holding the top seed.
The coed B league will follow suit Tuesday night with the start of the league playoffs. Vectra Bank earned the top seed in that league, which will play two weeks of playoffs with the championship games to be played Aug 21.
All of the end-of-season tournaments will be single elimination with the winners advancing and the losers calling it quits.
The women's league and the coed C league are still playing regular-season games and will wait to begin playoffs until after those games are completed and brackets can be completed.
The adult softball season in Steamboat lasts 10 weeks and begins in May.
Regular-season champions are awarded with the top seed in each league. The men's league played most of the season as a single league but divided into two divisions two weeks ago so that the playoffs would be more competitive.
Hundreds of players take part in the leagues, which play games Monday through Thursday nights at Howelsen Hill. Leagues include men's, women's, coed B and coed C.
