DWAYNE L. MONTIETH

1972-2001

Dwayne Lynn Montieth of Hayden died June 29, 2001, at his home in Hayden. He was 28.

Dwayne was born July 15, 1972, in Steamboat Springs to Sam and Patty (Murphy) Montieth. He was raised in Hayden and attended school and graduated from Hayden High School in 1990. He attended Mesa State for one year and C.M.C.C. for one year. He enjoyed sports and played golf, football, hockey and basketball. He was a dedicated fan of the Denver Broncos. He like camping and hunting and spending time with his family and most of all, taking care of his daughter, Tori. He was working in the plumbing business and had also worked at Twentymile Coal company and in construction.

Dwayne is survived by his parents, Sam and Patty Montieth of Hayden, a sister, April Montieth of Hayden; a daughter, Tori Montieth of Hayden; grandparents, Bill and Shirley Murphy and Herb and Barbara Montieth, all of Hayden; a great-grandmother, Edith Sandercook of Hayden; nephews, Triptan and Tyce Campbell of Hayden; many aunts, uncles, cousins and his many friends.

He was preceded in death by his uncle, Jerry Murphy and aunt, Sherry Murphy Silver.

He was cremated. A memorial service was held July 6, 2001, at the Hayden High School. Doug Zirkle officiated. Interment was at the Hayden cemetery. A special trust fund has been established for his daughter, Victoria Lynn Montieth, at the First National Bank of the Rockies.
