Steamboat Springs The city Planning Commission gave Curt Weiss the go-ahead Thursday night to start Phase 6 of an apartment complex off of Weiss Drive.
Walton Pond Phase 6 will be a two-story building containing eight one-bedroom apartments.
Weiss formed Walton Pond Apartments Inc. in 1990 in conjunction with the Steamboat Ski and Resort Corp. to provide housing for ski corp. employees. City Council has approved a total of 120 apartments through a major development permit consisting of 96 two-bedroom and 24 one-bedroom units.
The first five phases were completed in 1990, 1995, 1998, and 1999.
The complex consists of 15 buildings, 12 of which have two-bedroom apartments and three buildings with one-bedroom apartments.
The new building will be identical to the other three buildings with one-bedroom units.
