Dorothy Todd 1905-2000

Dorothy H. Todd died Aug. 25, 2000, at the Villa Manor in Lakewood. She was 94.

Dorothy was born Nov. 1, 1905, in Denver and moved to Oak Creek with her family in 1912.

She married Ernest "Dude" Todd in 1937. They lived in Oak Creek, Mount Harris, Hayden and Steamboat Springs. She began working for the Routt County Welfare Department at its inception in 1936, and worked there as the director of social services until retiring in 1974.

After retiring, Dorothy was active in senior citizens groups. She loved playing pool, bowling and volunteering at the Extended Care Center.

She is survived by three daughters, Delores Luekens of Morrison, Shirley Cruse of Palm Springs, Calif. and Bernice Long of Billings, Mont.; 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband; and a son, Joe Todd.

She was cremated. A memorial service will be held Oct. 7 at Peterson Funeral Home.
