Rodney Peck 1939-2000
Rodney H. Peck of Craig died Sept. 29, 2000. He was 61.
Rodney was born Aug. 20, 1939, in Denver to Howard H. and Beatrice Johnson Peck. He graduated from East High School in Denver in 1957 and entered the Marine Corps. After active duty he was admitted to Colorado College in 1958. He graduated cum laude in 1962 with a degree in geology.
He married Betsy Foote in Glenwood Springs on Aug. 11, 1962 before entering the University of Denver's law school. He received his juris doctorate in 1965 and went to work for Sid Pleasant, a Craig attorney, in August of 1965.
He was admitted to the Colorado Bar Association in October of 1965, and practiced law as an associate of Sid Pleasant's until the late 1980s when Mr. Pleasant retired. His civil law practice specialized in banking, real estate and business associations.
He was a member of the Northwest Colorado Bar Association, Colorado Bar Association, Colorado Bar Fellows, Yampa Valley Golf Association, Kiwanis Club, Moffat County School Board, the Memorial Hospital Board of Trustees and commissioner of Craig youth baseball. He is survived by his wife, Betsy, of Craig; two sons, Kevin of Craig and Corey of Colorado Springs; his mother, Beatrice Peck of Craig; and a sister, Carol Sue Idol of Omaha, Neb.
He was preceded death by his father, Howard H. Peck.
