Paul H. Twite 1925-2000
Paul H. Twite died Sept. 24, 2000, at his home in Milner. He was 75.
Paul was born July 18, 1925, in Milner to William and Nellie (Laird) Twite. He married Mary Mandis on June 22, 1946.
Prior to retiring, Paul was a coal miner at the Pittsburgh, Midway and Edna coal mines.
He also was a Korean War veteran, serving in the U.S. Marine Corps.
In his leisure time, Paul enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Paul is survived by his wife; three sons, Neil of Hayden, Kenneth of Grand Junction and Steve of Nebraska; two daughters, Patricia Stauffer of Craig and Nina James of Boulder; three sisters, Bertha Rice, Nellie Smith and Ada Russell, all of Grand Junction; 12 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by five brothers: Ted, Harvey, Earl, Bill and Foster.
Memorial services were held Sept. 28 in the Hayden High School auditorium. The Rev. John Page of the First Baptist Church of Hayden officiated. There was cremation. Peterson Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
