Marilyn J. Werner died Oct. 16, 2000, in Craig. She was 61.
She was born Sept. 5, 1939, in Yampa to Art and Jane (Allen) Orr. She grew up and attended school in Yampa.
Marilyn married Larry E. Sperry Nov. 15, 1958, in San Bruno, Calif. They lived in California until 1972, when they moved to Grand Junction. In 1975 they moved to Craig. Larry died in 1988.
In 1992, Marilyn married Dale "Smokey" Werner in Craig.
Marilyn was a housewife and enjoyed her basset hounds and collecting clocks. She was known as "Tutu" by her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Dale; three sons, Shawn Sperry of Casper, Wyo.; Shayne Sperry of Craig; and Sheldon Sperry of Wright, Wyo.; a brother, Robert Orr of Yampa; three step-daughters, Diana Bender of Arvada, Katherine Daniel of Rockland, Calif. and Laura Wagenaar of Ontario, Canada; and 12 grandchildren.
In addition to her first husband, Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents.
A funeral service was held Oct. 19 at Grant Mortuary in Craig with Gay Albers officiating. She was buried at Yampa Cemetery.
