Bantams sweep past Foothills

Team prepares for first tourney

— The Steamboat Springs Bantam A team will head to Albuquerque for the first tournament of the season this weekend with a 5-1 overall record.

The local team improved its record last weekend with two wins over the Foothills team.

Steamboat opened the weekend with a 6-2 victory on Saturday and backed it up with a 3-1 win on Sunday.

In Saturday's game, Matt LeGrice scored twice. Nick Pruett, Casey Earp, Philip Bush and Jamie Lokkesmoe also scored in the contest. Tucker Greene had two assists. Chris Ruff, Brad Bonner and Bush also provided assists in the contest.

Chris Timmerman led the Braves on Sunday with a hat trick. Bush had two assists and Taylor Leary added another.

The Bantam A team included goalkeeper Tim Higbee, Bush, Chris Timmerman, Leary, Earp, LeGrice, Chris Baumann, Greene, Pruett, Dusty Atkinson, Lokkesmoe, Chris Ruff, Daniel Coloccia, Bonner, John Lalive, Tyler Johnson, Hunter Levingston, Randy Rule, Nathan Rothe and Brian Faulkner.
