Three CMC students hurt in Halloween night scuffle

Steamboat Springs A fight between three Colorado Mountain College men at a large party Halloween night is under investigation.
Two men suffered cuts to their arms, hands and chest area after a fight broke out at a large gathering about 11 p.m. Tuesday in the 300 block of River Road, said J.D. Hays, Steamboat Springs director of public safety services.
A third man suffered a black eye because of the dispute, Hays said.
All of the men involved in the fight are college-aged and attend CMC, he said.
"At this time, we don't know what was used to cut the two men," Hays said. "The injuries were cuts. Not stab wounds."
The two men who were cut were checked out by medical personnel, he said.
The Police Department does not have anyone in custody as the incident is being investigated, he said.
"If we determine a crime was committed, we will arrest someone," he said.
Because of the fight, a party that was attended by close to 60 people was broken up by officers, he said.
