— A local man charged with robbery and assault for pushing his friend to the ground and taking her truck without her permission faces six months mandatory jail time when he is sentenced next month.

Joshua Carter, 25, appeared in court on Wednesday on charges of felony robbery, third-degree assault and violating conditions of his bail bond.

He was arrested last month after allegedly pushing a friend to the ground, covering her mouth with his hand when she yelled and leaving in her truck, which was later recovered. Officials said alcohol was involved in the incident.

Carter potentially faced two years confinement, but reached a plea agreement in which he pleaded guilty to the assault and the bail bond violation and the felony robbery charge was dismisse
