Edna M. Thomas 1905-2000

Craig Edna M. Thomas of Craig died May 28, 2000, at Valley View Manor in Craig. She was 94.
Edna was born Aug. 26, 1905, in Lafayette to Charles and Mae (Waneka) Newbill. After graduating from high school in Lafayette, she attended Parks Business School in Denver. She married Charles Thomas on Oct. 21, 1924, in Lafayette, where they resided until 1944 when they moved to Craig.
Edna was a homemaker and worked as a bookkeeper for Earl Blevins' office supply store. She enjoyed reading and doing fanciwork.
She was a member of the First Congregational Church, served on the fair board and was active in the Rebekah Lodge.
Edna is survived by a son, Jim, and his wife, Jo, of Craig; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; and a daughter, Betty Scott.
A memorial service was held May 31 at the Craig Cemetery.
