Leslie Marion Louthan 1928-2000

Leslie Marion Louthan died July 12, 2000. He was 72.

Leslie was born Feb. 23, 1928, in Goodland, Kan., to John "Jack" Albert and Cora Agnes (Bowland) Louthan. The family moved to Colorado when he was 9, settling at Divide Creek in Silt. They later moved to Rifle where he attended school.

Leslie married Maudie Woodard Oct. 10, 1948.

He worked as a truck driver and miner, and was also a rancher throughout his life.

Leslie enjoyed spending time with his family as well as hunting, fishing and the outdoors. He was a member of the National Rifle Association.

Leslie is survived by his wife; a son, Wade of Hayden; a daughter-in-law, Betty Ann Duzik of Craig; three grandchildren; a brother; Donald of Silt; a sister, Reta (Clinton) Maxfield of Grand Junction; numerous nieces and nephews and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Charles Albert and James Arthur Louthan; and a son, David.

There will be a barbecue memorial at noon July 16 at the pavilion building at the Routt County Fairgrounds in Hayden.
