Construction begins on The Cottonwoods
Sunday, December 17, 2000
Steamboat Springs Construction is under way on The Cottonwoods at Walton Creek Park, a small townhome project on Mariah Court, just south of Walton Creek Road.
The first phase of the manufactured housing project consists of six units in two buildings. A third building represents the second phase of the project.
All of the townhomes at The Cottonwoods include three bedrooms and 3 1/2 baths. They vary only slightly in size models are available that include 1,522 square feet or 1,544 square feet.
Prices at The Cottonwoods begin at $289,900 and go up to $321,00. The higher-priced units include a higher level of trim. For example, Lot 3 Mariah Court is one of the larger models and offers knotty pine interior doors, rustic hickory cabinets, two extra bay windows and upgraded plumbing fixtures.
Listing broker Todd Asbury said all of the units include Thermo-pane windows, color lock siding with stained cedar accents, gas forced-air heat and a heated garage.
Options include a redwood deck, fireplace with stone surround and a washer and dryer. All of the kitchens in the townhomes include complete major appliances including a gas range.
Among the most desirable features of The Cottonwoods is their proximity to Walton Creek and an extension of the Yampa River Core Trail. The project includes two additional parking spaces per unit meant to accommodate visitors, and the amenities will include a hot tub, sun deck, playground and picnic facilities.
The Cottonwoods will offer its residents 27,000 square feet of landscaped green space, representing 61 percent of the overall project.
Asbury can be reached at Steamboat Village Brokers, 879-7800.
