The Steamboat Springs running series will continue this Sunday with the sixth running of the annual Mount Werner Classic trail run at Storm Peak.
The race will challenge local runners with a 12-mile run, 5-mile run and a 5-mile hike.
The field for the races will be limited to the first 100 runners who sign up. Cost to enter the race is $18 prior to race day and $20 the day of the race.
The course will begin at the bottom of the mountain and use service and biking trails to lead up to the gondola. The longer run will continue up hill to the summit of Storm Peak.
The race will be the ninth in the 13 event Steamboat running series. After the classic, the next run on the scheduled will be the Mystery Trail Run of Aug. 20, the 16th annual 10K and 10,000 feet will follow on Sept. 3. The Oak Creek Labor Day run will take place on Sept. 4 and the running series will come to an end on Sept. 24 with the 14th annual Pilot/BPW run.
