2 men arrested in cocaine bust

Two Steamboat Springs men were arrested Friday on suspicion of selling cocaine and methamphetamines.

Jesus Alvarez-Frias, 42, and Cosme Orlando Lopez, 22, were arrested at a home near Eight Street and Crawford Avenue. The men are roommates, Steamboat Springs police Officer Josh Carrell said.

GRAMNET officers had a signed warrant to search the home, and the Steamboat Springs Police Department assisted.

The police department conducted a “knock entry,” which means they knocked on the door of the residence and were let in, Carrell said. Police searched the residence and found unknown amounts of cocaine and methamphetamine.

The men were arrested on suspicion of unlawful distribution of a Schedule 2 substance. Each man is being held in the Routt County Jail on a $50,000 bond.
