Winona’s: Restaurant Review

While a wait is unavoidable for a weekend breakfast at Winona’s, it is for a good reason: the food is worth it!

Yes, we decided to eat at Winona’s during one of Steamboat’s busiest times (Balloon Rodeo and Art in the Park weekend), but our wait was made more pleasant with a free coffee station positioned outside. By the time we were actually seated, there were crayons and paper already placed at the table for my ever-impatient toddler.

And the food was fabulous: To start, I had Winona’s vanilla-flavored coffee, which was served hot and quickly by our smiling server. As for breakfast, my daughter had chocolate-chip pancakes, and I enjoyed the lox omelet. We also shared Winona’s famous cinnamon roll much too big to finish, but it’s a must with homemade cream cheese icing. All were delicious, and we left the restaurant a little too full as we passed the line of people waiting for their turn at Winona’s excellent fare.

I would certainly recommend Winona’s to anyone. And, if you are a local, try eating early in the morning during the week to avoid the long wait. If you have a leisurely weekend, however, and do not mind the wait, then try Winona’s for your breakfast spot.

Winona’s is located at 617 Lincoln Avenue and is open for breakfast and lunch Monday thru Saturday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., and Sundays 7:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
