The Boathouse Pub hosts pasta fundraiser Thursday for LIFT-UP
November 16, 2011
Steamboat Springs — Those without dinner plans Thursday night may want to consider a spaghetti supper at The Boathouse Pub, from which all proceeds will go directly to LIFT-UP of Routt County.
"We haven't had a fundraising event like this for quite a number of years," said Julie Jordan, LIFT-UP's assistant director. "We're hoping the spaghetti dinner becomes an annual fundraiser."
The cost of the Pasta 4 the People dinner is $20 for adults and $10 for children. The Boathouse Pub, at 609 Yampa St., will offer seatings at 5:30 and 7 p.m. Tickets will be available at the door and can be purchased before the dinner Thursday at All That Jazz and at LIFT-UP.
The Boathouse Pub is donating the salad, spaghetti and bread, and Mountain Brew is donating desserts.
"All the proceeds will go directly to LIFT-UP," Jordan said.
In 2010, LIFT-UP offered charitable assistance to 3,376 households, board member Dave Maloney said. He said 5,982 people were served and 7,865 bags of food were given away.
Revenues from LIFT-UP's thrift store fund about half of the organization's budget. The other half comes from charitable contributions from the community.
The group hopes to raise a few thousand dollars from Thursday night's dinner.
"Every little bit helps," Maloney said. "This is one of the ways that we raise money to support all the good stuff that LIFT-UP does."
