Steamboat briefs: Take our reader survey for a chance to win $500

The Steamboat Pilot & Today is conducting its annual reader survey through Friday. The reader survey is used to shape future newspaper content and information and is designed to help us better serve the community. Last year, more than 1,100 readers participated in the survey. This year, two survey participants will win $500 shopping sprees. Steamboat Dance Theatre annual meeting is Aug. 28
Steamboat Dance Theatre's annual meeting for current members and those interested in becoming members is at 4 p.m. Aug. 28 at the Steamboat Springs Community Center. Dance experience not necessary. If you have a passion for the arts, come find out what Steamboat Dance Theatre has been up to, what the group's plans are for the coming year and get information about the upcoming auditions and performance for the 40th annual dance concert performance. Spellbinder training is in August at the library
Spellbinder training for those who want to learn to tell engaging, fun stories to children is from 3 to 5 p.m. Aug. 21, 5 to 8 p.m. Aug. 22 and 5 to 8 p.m. Aug. 28 at Bud Werner Memorial Library. The cost is $30.
