Steamboat Briefs: Pilot & Today seeking new community representatives

Steamboat Springs — The Steamboat Pilot & Today is accepting letters of interest from readers who would like to serve as community representatives on the newspaper's Editorial Board. Those representatives will be asked to serve a four-month term beginning this month.
The Editorial Board includes two community representatives and four members of the newspaper staff. Newspaper staff members on the board are General Manager Scott Stanford, Editor Brent Boyer, City Editor Blythe Terrell and reporter Tom Ross. The Editorial Board formulates the Our View opinions expressed on the ViewPoints page of the newspaper. The Editorial Board meets at 10 a.m. Tuesdays.
Readers interested in serving on the Editorial Board should send a letter of 500 words or fewer expressing their interest to Boyer at email@example.com or P.O. Box 774827, Steamboat Springs, CO 80477. Letters also may be dropped off at the Pilot & Today office at 1901 Curve Plaza. Call Boyer at 970-871-4221 with questions.
Grant deadline Feb. 11 for The 4 Yellow Foundation
Funds raised through the Ride 4 Yellow bike race will be granted to local cancer support services and initiatives. The Yampa Valley Community Foundation will accept grant applications and administer the funds for the 4 Yellow Foundation. Proposals are due by 4 p.m. Feb. 11 via a PDF file to firstname.lastname@example.org. Grant applications and more information are available at http://www.yvcf.org.
