Steamboat Briefs: Open house and lunch to support Kenyan girls center

An open house and lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. June 5 will support the Tasaru Girls Rescue Centre in Kenya. A suggested donation is $20 for the Women for Women event, which will be at 677 Meadowbrook Court. Funds will support the rescue center as it works against female genital mutilation of the Masai girls and women of Kenya. YES Golf Tournament scheduled for June 2
The Youth Education Scholarship Fund Golf Tournament is June 2 at Rollingstone Ranch Golf Club. Registration starts at 9:30 a.m., with tee-off at 11. The event raises money for scholarships for graduating Routt County high school seniors. Tread of Pioneers Museum looking for new volunteers
The Tread of Pioneers Museum is seeking volunteers. The Steamboat Springs museum needs front desk volunteers to work three-hour shifts. Duties include greeting visitors, answering phones, collecting admissions and gift shop sales. Friday and Saturday afternoon shifts are especially needed.
