The Center for Visual Arts fundraiser is set for Friday
A Halloween bash fundraiser for the Steamboat Springs Center for Visual Arts is at 6 p.m. Friday at Larson's Barn, 32380 Wild Goose Lane. There will be a cash bar, prize drawings and a costume contest. The cost is $30 and includes a barbecue dinner from Steamboat Smokehouse, live music from The Worried Men, one drink ticket and one prize-drawing ticket. Clerk and Recorder hours detailed for election period
If you have not received your ballot for the 2011 election, call the Routt County Clerk and Recorder's Office at 970-870-5556. Completed ballots must be received at the Clerk and Recorder's Office no later than 7 p.m. Nov. 1. The Clerk and Recorder's Office will be open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday and Monday, and from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday.
Applications for historic designation due Nov. 24
Applications for designation on the Routt County Register of Historic Properties are due in the Routt County Board of Commissioners Office in the Routt County Courthouse by Nov. 24. Applications will be reviewed by the Routt County Historic Preservation Board at its Dec. 14 meeting. Call Dee Bolton at 970-879-0108 for more information. Teens on Tour program registration ends Thursday
Registration closes at 5:30 p.m. Thursday for the Teens on Tour program for middle school students. The program is a trip to Denver on Nov. 10 and 11. The cost is $125 and includes a trip to an indoor trampoline park and dodgeball arena, shopping at FlatIron Crossing, hotel accommodations and some meals. Cool Pool Pentathlon at Old Town Hot Springs on Nov. 10
The Cool Pool Pentathlon returns to the Old Town Hot Springs at 10 a.m. Nov. 10. Five-person teams compete on a course that includes climbing the stairs and racing down the slide, running the width of the shallow pool, kayaking in the lap pool and swimming or kicking one length of the lap pool. The cost is $25, and age categories include students in kindergarten through second grade, third through fifth grade and sixth through eighth grade. The deadline to register is Nov. 9. Friends of Stagecoach is seeking board members
Friends of Stagecoach is seeking new candidates to serve on the board of directors. The mission of the group is to enhance recreation, encourage education and support preservation at the state park. Bud Werner Memorial Library offers e-books that can be downloaded onto members' Amazon Kindles using OverDrive from the library's website.
