VNA offers $14 meningitis vaccines at drop-in clinics

For a limited time, North­west Colorado Visiting Nurse Association is offering the meningococcal vaccine for $14 for adults and $14 or less for children. The vaccine is available at any of the VNA's drop-in clinics, or call at 970-879-1632 or 970-824-8233 to schedule an appointment.

Library to continue It's a Girl Thing book discussion

Bud Werner Memorial Library will be continuing its book discussion series for girls and women called It's a Girl Thing this winter. This free program is open to girls ages 10 to 12 and a woman partner such as a mom, grandma, friend or teacher. Registration is limited. Pairs may register for two or three of the four discussions. Book discussion will be from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Jan. 7, Feb. 11, March 18 and April 15. Each pair will be asked to contribute a dish to the group's meal.

Merry Mainstreet events start at 5 p.m. Saturday

Mainstreet Steamboat Springs will host the Merry Mainstreet event from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday on Lincoln Avenue. Mainstreet is inviting entries for the Mainstreet Light Parade as part of the event. Each entry must have some element of lighting included. The parade will be at 5:30 p.m., and there is no entry fee.

Cultural integration group seeks bilingual volunteers

Integrated Community is seeking bilingual volunteers to assist the organization with its resource and referral program Mondays and Wednesdays. Volunteers must speak Spanish, enjoy helping the immigrant community and be respectful and mature. Training is provided.

Art museum shop seeks pieces from local artists

The Steamboat Art Museum gift shop is seeking work by local artists and craftspeople. The shop sells art on a consignment basis. Proceeds help support the art museum. Unframed paintings, prints, drawings or photography as well as hand-crafted works such as jewelry, pottery, textiles and high-quality craft items are welcome.
