Haymaker opens driving range

Rollingstone Ranch Golf Club is scheduled to open Saturday

— In the ongoing battle golfers have with spring in the Rockies, score one for the good guys.

The driving range at Haymaker Golf Course opened Tuesday. The range and pitching areas are open, with the putting green slated to open today or Friday.

The course is still wet, and the recent snow did nothing to help, but head golf professional and director of instruction Luke Brosterhous said if the sun continues to shine as it did Wednesday, there is a chance the course could open soon.

The cost is $5 for a small bucket of balls or $10 for a large bucket. Golfers also can purchase range keys. Players can get 10 small buckets for $40, $90 covers 25 small buckets and $175 pays for 50 small buckets.

A junior range key is $30 for 10 small buckets.

Haymaker also will do a free Mother's Day Clinic from noon to 2 p.m. Sunday.
