July 27, 2011
Steamboat Springs — The consortium of base area businesses known as the Mountain Village Partnership is hosting its first bike-in movie tonight.
The screening includes two mountain bike movies. The main event is "Life Cycles," an award-winning 2010 film executed in the high-quality style of modern ski and snowboard films. Scroll down to watch the official trailer.
The movies start at dusk in the open space next to Tugboat Grill & Pub in Ski Time Square. Admission is free, and the gates open at 7 p.m. There will be beer and food for sale. Proceeds will be used to pay for tonight's event and future bike-in movies.
St. Cloud Mountain Club general manager Luke Dudley said another bike-in movie in Ski Time Square is scheduled for Aug. 10. The movie will be "Tommy Boy."
Dudley recommends that attendees bring a blanket to sit on or chairs. No pets are allowed.
The bike-in movie is part of the Mountain Village Partnership’s "Wild West Wednesday." It kicks off with a party stroll from 4 to 6 p.m. Attendees can purchase glasses for $10 and get free wine tastings at various Ski Time Square businesses.
Folks are encouraged to walk, ride their bikes or take Steamboat Springs Transit to Ski Time Square for the party stroll and the bike-in movie.
