— There are only three more weeks of music and a few chances to see and hear fabulous music at the Strings Music Pavilion this summer.

On Tuesday, Strings presents POWERHOUSE!!!, a dance troupe that combines tap, clogging and stomp into its own version of percussive dance. The troupe will present concerts at 11 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. Tuesday morning Youth Concerts tend to sell out, but usually, several tickets are turned in the morning of the concert, so come to the pavilion at 10 a.m. and put your name on a waiting list for these tickets and enjoy the Strings Park. The Family Concert at 5:30 p.m. features a different program with all members of the family in mind.

The last Wednesday concert of the season is this week. Featured on this program is Carl Maria von Weber’s melodious Clarinet Quintet in B-flat Major with a Strings favorite, Mark Nuccio, associate principal clarinetist of the New York Philharmonic. Also performed will be Anton Arensky’s romantic, Slavic-tinged Piano Trio in D minor, performed by the Carnegie Mellon Trio, and Leonard Bernstein’s gentle but jazzy Clarinet Sonata, also featuring Nuccio. This programming is made possible in part by a National Endowment for the Arts grant awarded to Strings this year to commemorate the works of Jewish-American composers.

On Thursday, come hear local guitarist and singer Todd Musselman at the free Music on the Green concert at the Yampa River Botanic Park. His folk rock sound is a favorite around Steamboat Springs.

On Friday night, three-time Grammy Award-winner Keb’ Mo’ sings and plays the blues at the pavilion. This concert is sold out, but lawn seating will become available Friday at 9 a.m. These tickets must be purchased in person at the box office. Tickets will go quickly, so come early — this is a concert that should not be missed.

Saturday is the last concert of the Jewish-American composer series, featuring “Three American Pieces” for clarinet and piano by Lukas Foss. Also featured are the classic G minor piano quartets of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Johannes Brahms.

Hope to see you at a Strings performance this week.
