6th annual Community Barbecue and Barn Dance slated for Saturday
September 16, 2013
Steamboat Springs — For the sixth straight year, the barn will be rocking in Steamboat Springs.
This Saturday, the Rotary Club of Steamboat Springs is bringing back its Community Barbecue and Barn Dance in an effort to raise funds for the Boys & Girls Club of Steamboat Springs and other Rotary charities. It is typically the Rotary Club’s premier event of the year.
Event co-chair Tara Weaver said the community-focused fundraiser is designed to cater to all ages with the sole purpose of a fun night to benefit charities.
"The big thing is it's fun for the whole family at an affordable price," Weaver said. "It's a fun night of dancing and food and to see people in the community as well as benefiting the Boys & Girls Club."
Weaver said there will be plenty of kids’ activities on hand, including bounce houses.
Ten raffle prizes that range from $1,000 to $5,000 in value are up for grabs. With one ticket, those attending the barn dance can win any of the prizes, and it's "not a silent auction by any means," Weaver said.
Loose Change will perform live music with Rex's Events and Catering providing the dinner. Weaver said there would be plenty of line dancing and two-stepping for the whole family to enjoy.
The event is slated for 5 to 9 p.m. Saturday at Wandering Creek Ranch. Ticket prices are $35 each or $75 for a family of five. Advance tickets can be purchased at the Boys & Girls Club as well as Central Park Liquor.
