Bring binoculars, friends and family. Bird walks will leave the visitors center every half-hour between 8 and 10 a.m. Horse-drawn hay ride at 10 a.m. Carpenter Ranch is 20 miles west of Steamboat Springs on U.S. Highway 40. 970-276-1932.
