A celebration and ribbon-cutting for the city of Steamboat Springs’ purchase of the Orton parcel on Emerald Mountain is at 11 a.m. at the bottom of the Howelsen Hill chair lift. A short walk will follow the ceremony at 11:15 a.m. Representatives from Great Outdoors Colorado, the Emerald Mountain Partnership and the city will talk about the land acquisition.
