The 2011 Elk Winter Symposium is from 6 to 9 p.m. Oct. 20 at the Steamboat Springs Community Center. Speakers from the Colorado Division of Parks and Wildlife and the U.S. Forest Service will discuss topics including elk biology, winter survival studies, the importance and location of elk winter ranges, and treatments to improve habitat and a discussion on feeding.
