Lama Karma Namgyel will teach about compassion at 6 p.m. at the Steamboat Springs Community Center. The public is invited to attend the free event, presented by the Lowell Whiteman School. Lama Karma is known for his dancing and performs ceremonies for people who are ill or near death. A reception will follow his teachings.
