“Deep Down” screening — Library Hall at Bud Werner Memorial Library, 6:30 p.m.
Bud Werner Memorial Library and Transition Steamboat present a free screening of the PBS Independent Lens documentary that looks at divided neighbors, a small town in dire economic straits, high unemployment and the prospects of a mountaintop coal removal mine in eastern Kentucky. The evening includes a discussion about the state of coal mining in the Yampa Valley with former coal miner and current Craig Councilman Terry Carwile.
