The Plein Air Event

The Art Event, third annual plein air paintout and quick draw
When: Events for participating artists start June 21; a public reception is from 5 to 8 p.m. June 25 at Steamboat Art Museum; a silent auction with live music by Yampa Valley Boys is from noon to 1 p.m. June 26

Cost: Registration fee for artists is $20 for Steamboat Art Museum members and $25 for non-members; entries are due by May 31

Complete Schedule: Monday, June 21st
9:00 am to 12:00 pm Plein Air Artist Check-in at Steamboat Art Museum
7:00 pm cocktail party/artists' orientation and artist’s get together at SAM

Tuesday, June 22nd
Painting Day at the Historic Rehder Ranch and “Media Day”. There is limited parking so carpooling would be appreciated. Afternoon painting can include the Historic Gay Ranch and Catamount Barn. Lunch will be served.

Wednesday, June 23rd
Painting Day at Sydney Peak Ranch. Must have gate code to enter.

Thursday, June 24th
Painting Day at North Routt, Steamboat Lake and Hahns Peak. Reservations for lunch at Hahns Peak Café. Lunch will be at the Hahns Peak Cafe. SAM will make reservations but artists will pay for their lunches.

Friday, June 25th
9:00 to 12:00 Check in paintings at Steamboat Art Museum
1:00 to 5:00 Show hanging – Museum Closed
5:00 to 8:00 Plein Air Show and Artist”s Reception. Food will be served and a donation bar for drinks.

Saturday June 26th
9:00 to 10:00 Quick Draw check-in
10:00 to 12:00 Quick Draw (Artists participating in the Quick Draw eat free)
12:00 to 1:00 Silent Auction
7:00 Artists get together at local restaurant, TBA

Sunday, June 27th
11:00 to 2:00 Pick up unsold paintings from Museum
