Opening ceremonies for Mandala on the Yampa start at 11 a.m. in Library Hall at Bud Werner Memorial Library. After the ceremony, the Tibetan Buddhist monks from Drepung Loseling Monastery will begin drawing the lines to construct a mandala sand painting, a rare and beautiful art form. The monks will work on the painting from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day through Wednesday, placing each grain of sand by hand. The library also will offer interactive community sand painting. FREE.
