The Hammy Pull is a fun punt, pass and kick competition at Gardner Field. It was started eight years ago by a group of 30-something men at a football game arguing over who could kick the longest field goal. They decided to settle it on the field and the Hammy Pull was born. Entry fee for this year's event is $30 with all proceeds going to raise money for the Steamboat Springs High School Booster Club. The event is Sunday, Oct. 11, 2009. Registration is at 12:30 p.m. and the competition begins at 1 p.m. For information, e-mail HammyPull@gmail.com.
