Participants in the 2009 Emerald City Opera Artist Institute for Emerging Singers perform short, one-act opera pieces by composer Gian Carlo Menotti. Tickets are $17 at the door. Institute singers give a free performance at the Yampa River Botanic Park at noon Tuesday. The opera company also hosts a free public master class at 6 p.m. Thursday at the Depot Art Center. Call 879-1996. The library is at 13th Street and Lincoln Avenue, and the Depot is at 1001 13th St.
