Renowned local mountaineer and physician Eric Meyer shares his vast climbing experiences, including his role in the courageous 2008 rescue operation on K2, the world's second highest peak (28,250 ft.) where 11 lives were lost in 24 hours at Olympian Hall Tues., Feb. 10 at 6:30 p.m. Dr. Meyer has climbed all over the worldAlaska, Nepal, Tibet, Bolivia, and summited Mt. Everest in 2004. His work includes volunteering with the U.S. Nordic Combined Ski Team and study of the effects of cold and altitude on the respiratory system. The evening benefits The Lowell Whiteman School Outdoor Program, Everything Outdoor Steamboat and Operation Smile. A $5. donation is requested.
