Advocates Against Battering and Abuse and First Impressions of Routt County will present Marilyn Van Derbur, former Miss America and author of "Miss America By Day: Lessons Learned form Ultimate Betrayals and Unconditional Love," at 7 p.m. Oct. 16 at Steamboat Springs High School. Marilyn will speak about her experience as an incest survivor. She will discuss the long-term effects of child abuse and offer information about how to talk to children about sexual abuse. There is no cost and free childcare is available by calling 870-5270.
