Northwest Colorado Visiting Nurse Association is offering FREE immunizations to children under the age of 5 who are in need of DTaP, MMR, Hep A, B, HIB , Prevnar, Polio, Rotavirus and Flu. The drop-in clinic will be at the Steamboat Springs Community Center from 1:00 p.m.-3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 17. Parents must bring their child's immunization records with them to the clinic. Vaccinations are extremely important to protect toddlers from whooping cough (pertussis). Children need five DTaP immunizations to be fully protected against diphtheria, tetanus and pertussis. The 4th dose, given between 15 and 18 months is the one most often missed. Immunizations are safe, effective and they save lives. Remember, children are not fully protected until they receive all of their vaccinations. Protect your child by immunizing them on time. Call the VNA at 879-1632 for more information. VNA office is located at 940 Central Park Drive, Suite 101.
