Should racial profiling be performed at airports and other mass transits?

Happy Friday all:)!!
So I don't know how many of you listen to talk radio, but recently I have been listening to Michael Savage. Now I don't agree with everything he says, but he did ask, "Should Muslims alone be profiled at airports?" There is a poll on his website asking this very question and as of 8.10.06, 95% of voters say yes. In a way I am in favor of profiling because of the foiled terror plot, but then I am not for it, I am on the fence. I hear it's not against the law to profile. What do you think?

I think something ought to be done to alleviate the stress on the 90 year old ladies, people in wheelchairs and children. I have seen it time and time again. Thanks for letting me rejion and I like the new format.

Why profile anyone? Treat them all the same, and expect longer waits in lines. That's the fairest way. The consumer has a choice when it comes to flying, although there's no quicker way to get somewhere. Still, when in a plane or other large passenger transport, all should be subjected to the same rules; not for convenience sake, but for safety. I'll give up an extra hour or 2 to stay safe.

Morty, you need a symbol not a new name:)

LilMissJ- My name is the symbol!! Plus, I was never any good with the whole insert of computer jargon on the old site. Don't even see a way to add hot links on this one. Get it?? "Hot Links/Kielbasa!" LOL!!!!

Numbers- You can just call me Matt. Makes it easier. Plus, Kielbasa is my handle on most other sites I go to. My wife and I love cooking kielbasa on the grill with some Rachel's Mango Chipotle BBQ sauce!

As for Michael Weiner, as long as he doesn't abscond with my handle, I'm happy!

Michael Savage is Al Franken's opposite number. Still, even a stopped clock is right twice a day.

One of the left's most notable triumphs is the demonization of profiling.

If you know that a specific group of people (i.e. Arab Muslims) are dedicated to your destruction, it is a criminal waste of time and resources to focus your interdiction efforts on Minnesota Lutherans, in an effort to be "fair."

I grew up in Tacoma, WA Ted Bundy's old stomping grounds. The authorities knew early on that the man they were looking for was a young, attractive, well spoken suburban white guy, and focused their investigation accordingly.

Today's PC KoolAid addicts would have demanded, I suppose, that the cops make periodic sweeps of Hilltop (Tacoma's poor black area, at the time), just to be "fair."

When the enemy's traits are widely known and easily identifiable, diverting strained resources to accommodate a story book fantasy contrivance of "fairness" is an invitation to murder.
