Velarde and Rose

Ruby Velarde and Brandon Rose, of Madera, Calif., were married June 18, 2011, in Madera. Ruby is the daughter of Maria and Francisco Velarde-Garcia, of Madera. She works as a Respiratory Therapist at Yampa Valley Medical Center. Brandon is the son of Frank and Carol Rose, of Madera. He works for Dobell Contracting Co. After the wedding, Ruby and Brandon took a honeymoon road trip along California Highway 1. The couple, who met through mutual friends, resides in Steamboat Springs.

Thornberry

Leah Anne Carpenter, of Alpharetta, Ga., and Sean LeRoy Thornberry, of Lilburn, Ga., were married July 9, 2011, at Midnight Ranch in Clark. Leah is the daughter of David and Anne Carpenter. Sean is the son of John and Jacqueline Thornberry. Bridesmaids were Cheryl Refroe, Andrea O’Herron, Megan Braswell and Molly Hume. Groomsmen were Damon Renfroe, Devin O’Herron, Jason Davis and Nathan Davis. The couple’s shih tzu was the ring bearer. The couple resides in Steamboat Springs and will honeymoon in Tulum, Mexico.

Robinson

Megan Gregg and Barkley Robinson were married May 28, 2011, in Steamboat Springs. Megan is the daughter of Bruce and Susan Gregg. Barkley is the son of Kent and Suzanne Robinson. Bridesmaids were Asheigh Pipher, Ashley Demos, Jess Aldighieri, Bretta Reams and Lacey Manzanares. Groomsmen were Kurt Robinson, Jamie Morgan, Ian Prichard, Walter Magill and Bobby Aldighieri. The ceremony and reception were held at Sweetwater Grill. The couple, who lives in Steamboat Springs, honeymooned in Cabo San Lucas.

Engagement

Kriz and Matthiesen

John and Katy Kriz, of Steamboat Springs, announce the engagement of their son, Rory Kriz, to Megan Matthiesen, daughter of Stephen and Linda Matthiesen, of Colorado Springs. Megan graduated from Cheyenne Mountain High School in 2004 and attended Colorado Mountain College and Colorado State University. Rory attended Steamboat Springs High School. The couple will marry in Steamboat.

Peterson and Vordermeier

Stephane Peterson, of Moline, Ill., and Kurt Vordermeier, of Hollywood, Fla., were married June 18, 2011, at Yampa River Botanic Park in Steamboat Springs. Stephane is the daughter of Steve and Roxanne Peterson and Matt Puck. Kurt is the son of Ken and Carol Vordermeier. The maid of honor was Dana Densberger, and the best man was Dave Winialski. The reception was held at Steamboat Springs Community Center. The couple, who resides in Steamboat, will honeymoon in Nicaragua.
