Couples announcements for August 2008



Weaver and Baker

Bryn Weaver, of Steamboat Springs, and Daniel Baker, of Ocean City, N.J., are engaged to be married Sept. 20, 2008, at the Dutch Creek Guest Ranch, near Steamboat Lake. Bryn is the daughter of Norm and Lynette Weaver, of Steamboat Springs, and Dan is the son of Sue Baker and the late Lynn Baker, of Ocean City, N.J. Bryn is a 2001 Steamboat Springs High School graduate, a 2005 graduate of the University of Colorado in Boulder and currently is completing her Masters in environmental policy at the London School of Economics. She plans to work in the area of carbon emissions reduction projects and clean energy. Dan is a graduate of Wake Forest College in North Carolina with a bachelor's degree in economics. Dan is a senior manager at Accenture, coordinating nonprofit projects in developing countries. Bryn and Dan met working in Sri Lanka after the tsunami, then lived for a year in Bangkok and currently live in London. They are following their passion for the outdoors and international travel to New Zealand for their honeymoon.


Younglund and Tucker

Michelle Younglund, of Woodville, Texas, and Drew Tucker, of Woodville, Texas, are engaged to be married Aug. 30, 2008, at the First Baptist Church of Woodville. Michelle is the daughter of Monty Younglund, of New Raymer, and Susan Rygh, of Yampa. Drew is the son of Jimmy and Patti Tucker, of Woodville. Michelle is a 1998 graduate of Soroco High School. Michelle is employed as a teacher at St. Paul's Episcopal School. Drew is employed by I-Corp of Beaumont, Texas, as a welder. After a honeymoon in Galveston, Texas, Drew and Michelle will make their home in Woodville.


Martin and Puleo

Kelly Martin, daughter of George and Theresa Martin of Steamboat Springs, and Victor Puleo, son of Marie Puleo, were married July 26, 2008, in Steamboat Springs. Kelly is a nursing instructor at Colorado Northwestern Community College in Craig. Victor is a sales representative at Aqua Vita Spas in Steamboat Springs.


Flores and Gressett

Ms. Sabina Gilbert, of Fort Collins, proudly announces the engagement of her daughter Jessica Flores to Brandon Gressett, of Azle, Texas. Brandon is the son of Jay and Missy Gressett, also of Azle, Texas. Jessica is a 2002 graduate of Steamboat Springs High School. She moved to Texas to attend the University of North Texas, where she graduated in 2006 with a bachelor's degree in political science. She is employed with Neopost as an account executive in Washington, D.C. Brandon is a 2001 graduate of Azle High School. He enlisted in the United States Army and received five achievement awards along with several medals of accommodation. He is employed with the Department of Homeland Security in the National Operations Center, Washington, D.C. Brandon also is working on his bachelor's degree though the American Military University. The couple is residing in Alexandria, Va. Wedding plans are set for May 2009 in Texas.


Huggard and Goldsmith

Lori Huggard, daughter of Nancy and Jeff Huggard, of Steamboat Springs, and William Goldsmith, son of William and Diane Goldsmith, of Elizabeth, and Mary and Ken Deshaies, of Silverthorne, were married Aug. 1, 2008, at Spring Creek in Steamboat Springs.


Murphy and Arellano

Dwight and Peggi Murphy, of St. Augustine, Fla., formerly of Steamboat Springs, announce the engagement of their daughter, Stephanie Lynn Murphy, to Aaron Crisoforo Arellano, son of Crisoforo and Donna Arellano, of Greeley, formerly of Steamboat Springs. Stephanie is a 2001 graduate of Steamboat Springs High School and will graduate from Kaplan University in Davenport, Iowa, in 2009. Stephanie works as an auditor at Coca Cola Enterprises in Brandon, Fla, Aaron graduated from Steamboat Springs High School in 1995 and attended Colorado Mountain College. Aaron works in North American Billing at Coca Cola Enterprises in Brandon. Stephanie and Aaron will be getting married in the historic Lightner Museum Courtyard on Oct. 25, 2008.



Richard and Shirley Stone (Stender), of Hayden, will celebrate 50 years of marriage with an open house at David Stone's house Sept. 20. Call 879-4990 for information. The couple were married Oct. 5, 1958.


Roberts and Macgregor

Duncan Macgregor, of Steamboat Springs, married Rachael Roberts, of Inverness, Scotland, on July 2. The ceremony was at Urquhart Castle overlooking Loch Ness in Scotland. Duncan is the son of Virginia Osborne of Grass Valley, Calif., and Don Macgregor, of Steamboat. Rachael is the daughter of Ken and Liz Roberts, of Inverness, Scotland. Duncan graduated in June from Portland State University with a degree in Japanese and Business and has an opportunity in international business in Scotland. Rachael will be entering Napier University. The couple have made their home in Edinburgh, Scotland.
